Kindred Stones

This rock garden has

Twelve hundred sixty two small stones

Similar in size,

Color, texture, and in shape,

Yet unique enough

That every day, as I pass,

My eyes find this one

Among the many,

All so very much alike.

This singular stone,

Calling out to my spirit,

“Hello, friend. We are brothers.”
