Monsoon Christmas

* please note: I am no song writer- just a guy who remembers walking across frozen ponds here as a kid and trying to adjust to 80 degree Christmas Eve’s in this very same place…

Monsoon Christmas- a transliteration

It’s beginning to look a lot like April.
Everywhere you go

Take a look at the pouring rain, flooding once again

With parking lots and urban streams aflow

It’s beginning to look a lot like April

Mud on every floor

But the prettiest sight to see is the boot rack that will be
By your own front door

A pair of Wellington boots and seedlings to root

Is the wish of Bobbie and Bill

Kids that won’t talk and take the dogs for a walk

Is the prayer of Johnny and Jill

And Mom and Dad can hardly wait to see the sun again

It’s beginning to look a lot like April
Everywhere you go

There’s a tree in the Parking lot, that’s blooming quite a lot

The fragile kind that doesn’t like the snow

It’s beginning to look a lot like April

I wish some sleet would start

And the thing that will make is sting is the winter winds that sing

Just like in old art

It’s beginning to look a lot like April

I wish some snow would fall

And the thing that will make it cool is the lighting of the Yule

Just like in old saws

It’s beginning to look a lot like April

April

April

April

Merry… Christmas?… Anyone?
