A schoolyard bully,
Even in a coat and tie,
Remains, still, just a bully.
A schoolyard bully,
Even in a coat and tie,
Remains, still, just a bully.
After long absence
It is most reassuring
To be called by name
When your fortress is
Built from a tissue of lies
Do you fear the falling rain?
On the other hand;
If you used thicker paper,
Would you feel any safer?
I’ve been sailing here
Long enough to read the set
Of the sheets and gauge
Which way the wind is blowing.
Time to reach for sheltered coves.
So, profits trump care.
It’s crystal clear, if you look
At who benefits.
When I contemplate
Savage laryngectomy,
With this butter knife,
Before the entree arrives,
I guess I’ve chosen poorly
In my dinner companion.
Why do amateurs
Hold onto double standards
In regard to art?
Perusing a perfection
At best, unlikely,
Frustrated by their failures,
Wishing to be prodigies?
Joy can be achieved
Without seeking mastery
Just relish in the doing!
