I intend this page to be a venue in which I can post some of the pictures I have taken that speak to me in some way.  I will try to offer some editorial comment about what I found appealing about the picture.

In March of 2015, we went to Sedona Az. The scenery is breathtaking!

I don’t know why these appealed to me…

Rain on Japanese Maple

I just love a dynamic sky!

…and unexpected flashes of color…

…and did I mention I love dynamic sky?

Patterns in nature have a certain appeal as well.

Maybe I mentioned dynamic skies?

I love botanical macro photos.  There is often a surprise…

A flash of color…

an unexpected twist…

a haunting image…

or an emotional pull.

Sometimes I take pictures and push them out of the photographic world and into someplace else.

Other times, they speak on their own.

Like this.

This was a challenge piece.  The challenge was to do something wrong on purpose.  I set out to make a horrible photograph and ended up making something almost impressionistic.

Then, I went for surreal…

Then I tried to capture the spirit of En Plein Air painting.

There is just something about this old bell that stirs feelings.

This digital mosaic arose from a challenge to make a single image form at least 4 previous works in at least 4 different media.

Just some rose buds.

What more needs to be said.

I love the sunsets here at my In-Law’s House.  The energy of the sky and the water is astounding.

The Pampas Grass against the dynamic sky is something I never tire or photographing.  Today I remembered about fill flash!

I really need a wide angle lens that corrects for image warping.

Cloud photography is fun.

 

Especially in low light!

 

One week I spent a long time waiting around in doctor’s offices. The boredom reached the point that I had to play with the limited photo editing capacity of my iPhone. Luckily, I still had some interesting photos to play with…

Sometimes you capture the moment

Other times it’s frightening!

And Sometimes things don’t quite work out.

And, of course, some images just speak for themselves.
